Report on 5TH JUSTICE HIDAYATULLAH MEMORIAL COMPETITION 2012

A team comprising of Ayush Khanna (7th Semester), Sakshi Athwani (7th Semester) and Shreyosi Pal (5rd Semester), participated in the " 5TH JUSTICE HIDAYATULLAH MEMORIAL COMPETITION 2012" held from 19th – 21st Oct, 2012 at HNLU, Raipur. The competition comprised of 24 teams from all over India, with all the top national law schools participating.

There was a memorial selection round in which many teams participated out of which 24 teams qualified .The team won both the matches of prelims round and was appreciated by the judges and fellow participants for their research and presentation skills. It was a great learning experience for all of us.

With our experience and the reviews given by the judges, we would like to suggest the teams participating in different moot court competitions, to keep in mind the following points during their preparation:

Research should be wide and should not be restricted to the issues raised.

Please be thorough with the facts of the case, your research and the compendium.

The rules of the competition should be thoroughly interpreted, specially the rules regarding the drafting of the memorials and whether the arguments can be made out of the memorial or not.
