Placement Drive in ALS

Amity Law School, Noida organised a placement drive for the final year students. Thompson Reuters(Pangea3), Bombay came to the campus on 12th September, 2014 to recruit the best potential minds. Students from 5 year & 3 year course participated in large numbers for the seminar organised on 'Career in a Legal Processing Outsourcing(LPO)' giving the different areas of expertise of the recruiting company & main highlights.

40 students were shortlisted for the Group Discussion rounds testing the analytical & reasoning ability of the students. They were judged on the following criteria: 

1. Application of law to the facts.

2. Rationale behind the argument.

3. Clarity of thoughts.

4. Presentation skills & Poise.

Assists in contract summarization, contract management, legal research, drafting, litigation research related projects. Applies a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; verifies documents for completeness and compliance with quality and client requirements. Workshop on Interview Preparation & Resume Writing

ALS, Noida is organizing a workshop on 'Interview Preparation & Resume Writing' for the 8th Semester. The workshop would be conducted in the Legal Aid Room:
 Session 1 : Preparation from the candidates end –conducted by Ms. Garima Wadhwa
 Session2: the employers perspective-conducted by Ms. Jyotica Bhasin(Partner, Bhasin& Bhasin)
 
The sessions would be taken up for two sections each:
 27 January –B.A. LL.b(hons) Section A and B for the first part of session; timings 1:30 pm onwards
 28 January- B.COM & B.B.A LL.b(hons) for the first part of session; timings 1:30 pm onwards.
 29 January- B.A. LL.b( hons) Section A,B for the second part of session; timings: 2:10 pm onwards.
 31 January- B.COM & B.B.A LL.b(hons) for the second part of session, timings: 2:10 pm onwards.

 It is expected that the above training program will contribute to better placements.

ALS v SILF, Cricket Friendly Match

An entertaining cricket match was organized between Amity Law School, Noida and Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF). The SILF team had players from top law firms like AZB, Amarchand, Luthra, JSA, Singh & Associates, Khaitan & Sood, H & S , SS Rana etc. 

Mr Lalit Bhasin, President of SILF was the chief guest for the event. Playing first, The visitors scored 182 in twenty overs. In a nail biting finish, the ALS team won by five wickets with four balls to spare. The fielders of both the teams did a commendable job.

Sunny Sharma of SILF won the Best Batsman award having scored 68 with nine fours and three sixes. The Best Bowler award went to Pranav Proothi and Rishabh Soni was declared the Best Fielder, both from ALS.

Principle Purpose of Job	To perform a variety of functions related to the management of the discovery process, including executing first-pass review (The review and analysis of legal and non-legal documents for U.S. litigation matters) and detailed analysis of discovery-related materials. Our Attorneys will also assist with the management of client databases and preparing daily substantive evidence summaries.  Also, you will complete legal research and draft US litigation documents.
Main Accountabilities:
·         Assisting the Client Attorney(s) in indentifying important case materials. ·         Reviewing the documents for relevance to the case , privilege, and specific concepts. ·         Summarizing key evidence for client Attorney(s) ·         Receiving the communication related to the documents to be reviewed. ·         Completing Legal Research ·         Drafting memoranda ·         Drafting motions, briefs, and pleadings ·         Ensure work product quality ·         Construct and execute searches for relevant material in client databases ·         Work with team to ensure necessary steps are taken to review all the legal documents. ·         Occasionally interact / communicate with client through telephone.
