Placement Drive in ALS

Amity Law School, Noida organised a placement drive for the final year students. Thompson Reuters(Pangea3), Bombay came to the campus on 12th September, 2014 to recruit the best potential minds. Students from 5 year & 3 year course participated in large numbers for the seminar organised on 'Career in a Legal Processing Outsourcing(LPO)' giving the different areas of expertise of the recruiting company & main highlights.







40 students were shortlisted for the Group Discussion rounds testing the analytical & reasoning ability of the students. They were judged on the following criteria: 
1. Application of law to the facts.
2. Rationale behind the argument.
3. Clarity of thoughts.
4. Presentation skills & Poise.

The following students were selected based on the above for the Personal Interview round:

The students in the interview round were put to test on their legal knowledge & general awareness. Some of the popular questions asked included:
1. Why Pangea3??
2. Where do you see yourself 5 years down the line?
3. How can You help in the growth of Pangea3?
4. Share your internship experiences.
5. What are your goals & objectives?

After the interview the recruiters shared their feedback with Director sir. They were impressed by the talented ALSites with a wide range of experience in different fields of law. They thanked the ALS family for the warm welcome & hospitality.

Amity Quiz on Constitutional Law, 2014




The greatest threat to our Constitution is our own ignorance of it.

Amity Law School, Noida added a new feather to its cap by organising the 3rd edition of Quiz on Constitutional Law at Amity Campus, Sector- 125, Noida wherein 250 budding lawyers of ALS, Noida participated from all semesters & courses on the 26th of August.

Welcoming the young minds, Maj Gen Nilendra Kumar, Director, Amity Law School addressed the gathering by saying that the constitution of the country forms the bed rock of nation building process and has a pivotal role to play in regulation of the main organs of the country namely Legislation, Executive and Judiciary. Therefore, it is imperative for the ones associated with judicial system to be well versed with the constitutional law and the quiz was organized to serve the purpose of encouraging the understanding of the Constitution of India among future of the country.

The 90 minutes quiz tested the knowledge of the participants about Constitutional Law, its various Articles, Doctrines, Preamble, Amendments and related Case studies, through various Objective type questions. This year the uniqueness of the event was the mass participation from the First year breaking the barriers of being newbie's in the profession. The quiz saw a close fight among the top prospective experts in the final battle to prove their flair. The intensity of the competition reached new heights as the results were declared. 
















Tanisha J. Munir (9th Semester, B.A. LL.B) bagged the First Prize of the competition & was awarded the Nani Palkiwala Award for her excellence.


Shivanghi Parihar (9th Semester, B.A. LL.B) won the H.M. Seervai Award (Second Prize).


Rohan Sharma (5th Semester, B.Com LL.B) took the B.R. Ambedkar Award (Third Prize). 


Tanya Jain (9th Semester, BBA LL.B) was given the H.R. Khanna Award(Fourth Prize).



All the winners were given medals, books & cash prize for their hard work & dedication. Special prizes were also given to all the individual toppers from each batch as a mark of appreciation for their efforts:

All the the winners of the quiz were felicitated during the Valediction Ceremony by Dr. S.K. Singh, Dean Faculty of Law, Amity Law School, Noida. He applauded the novel way of making students practically know about the Constitution as the Quiz comprehensively covered each and every aspect of the Constitutional Law, testing the in-depth knowledge of the budding lawyers & the present generation of lawyers has a great responsibility to rescue the system from the shortcomings which are affecting the smooth functioning of the system.

Dissertation Supervisors Meeting

9th Semester students have to meet their allotted dissertation supervisors every Wednesday between 2-5 PM giving them updates on their progress. Attendance will be marked weekly & presence is mandatory starting from this week (6th August).

Notice for New Courses

A few significant changes have been introduced that impact the students as indicated below. These come into effect with the forthcoming academic session starting in July, 2014.

Students would need to exercise option to select any two of the three courses below for the semesters concerned.

9th Semester

a) Intellectual Property Law
b) Telecommunication Laws
c) Law, Poverty & Development

7th Semester

a) Legislative Drafting
b) Women & Criminal Law
c) Interpretation of Statutes

In addition to the above, the students of Sixth semester and Above would need to select any one of the two baskets given below in which they would be taught the subjects semester-wise contained in that basket.

a) Business Law
b) Intellectual Property Law

The students can now change their foreign language, if they so want, and select any of the following each year. These are of one credit each per semester. Those who wish to continue with the same foreign languages may do so. 

1. French      )
2. German     )        Five Year
3. Hindi         )

Next, the students would have to opt for one of the two open electives of one credit each.

a)   Sports
b)   Cultural

Top Ranking among the Law Colleges in India

WINNERS of "Who owns Gutthi" Contest

Brands And Fakes has announced the winners of the Article presentation contest - “Who owns Gutthi”. We are proud to inform that all the three finalists are students of Amity Law School, Noida
Ms. Pragya Wazir has been declared as overall winner followed by Ms. Priyanka Mittal & Ms. Tanya Singhal who holds the first and second runners up respectively.
Over 200 entries were received for this contest and the winners have been announced after a thorough evaluation process carried out by some of the well known and eminent lawyers from the IPR domain.

Exams Rescheduled for 8th & 4th Semester

URGENT!! URGENT!! URGENT!!
Dates of commencement of End Semester Examination for 2012-17 & 2010-15 batches have been changed. Please note that the examination scheduled for above two batches on April 7, 2014 have been postponed. Classes will take place for 8th and 4th semester from 7th April between 0910- 1800 hrs.

The time table is uploaded on Amizone and put up on notice boards. Revised date sheet would be intimated in due course. However, exams would be concluded by 24/4/2014 for 2010-15 and 25/4/2014 for 2012-17 batch. Hence, the exams would conclude as scheduled earlier.
