Essay Competition organised by Ramakrishna Mission

Ramakrishna Mission is organizing an ESSAY COMPETITION on the occasion of the 150^th Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda (1863-2013).

Considering the importance of Swami Vivekananda’s message for the regeneration of the nation, the Govt. of India had declared his birthday,i.e 12^th January ,as a National Youth Day. Prime minister has formed a National Committee to celebrate the event across the country over the next four years. This Competition is one such effort in that direction.

Ø      REGISTRATION:

Students can collect the registration form from the respective Institutions or  ProVC(A)’s Office. Registartion form can also be download from www.awakeningindia.org  .

The students are requested to submit it to the Directors Office along with Rs. 20/- as registration fees latest by January 08,2010 .

Ø      ESSAY TOPIC:

The students will be distributed a book which is a compilation from the words of Swami Vivekananda titled SWAMI VIVEKANANDA ON INDIA AND HER PROBLEMS at time of registration.

The Topic will be closely related to the contents of the book & will be given to the participants on the day of the competition. The participants are supposed to write on the spot.

Ø      LANGUAGE:

The competition will be both in English & Hindi language.

Ø      WORDS LIMIT:

The word limit of the essay is 1500 to 2000 words.

Ø      DATE & VENUE:

 The Essay Competition will be held on January 30, 2011 at Ramakrisha Mission premises at Paharganj, New Delhi.

Ø      THE REWARDS:

The following Five Prizes will be given to the winners:

First Prize                          Rs. 15000/-

Second Prize                       Rs.12000/-

Third Prize                         Rs.10000/-

Fourth Prize                       Rs.8000/-

Fifth Prize                          Rs.5000/-

Out of the Prize money, 1/3 rd of the amount will be given by way of literature and the rest will be given in cash.

Ø      Consolation Prize: There will be 50 consolation Prizes where students would be awarded books worth 100/- each.

Ø      Certificates will be issued to the first 125 winners.
